The CCL Platform is grounded in rigorous comparative legal research and BIICL’s long-standing expertise in applied legal scholarship and capacity-building. Its development is guided by a multi-step process that includes:

Systematic research and analysis of corporate climate litigation worldwide
Contributions from National Rapporteurs and peer-reviewed national reports
Comparative legal analysis across jurisdictions
Ongoing updates to ensure accuracy and relevance
Integration of practical tools and materials for legal professionals, including databases, templates, and case references

The project’s strength lies in its international and interdisciplinary structure, composed of:

A Core Group of leading strategic advisors from academia, legal practice and the judiciary
National Rapporteurs from 27 countries, supported by expert national teams including legal practitioners, academics, judges, and scientists
Additional experts contributing from “Other Jurisdictions” not yet covered by national reports

Together, these contributors form our International Expert Group—a diverse and global community including all Core Group members, National Rapporteurs and their teams, and other scholars and practitioners actively engaged in climate litigation and law reform worldwide.
